Children’s Fishing Day “Phivos Papachristoforou”
On Saturday, July 5, for the 18th year, the children’s fishing event took place at Agios Georgio’s park in Athalassa. The event was dedicated to the memory of the former President and for many years Member of the Association, Phivos Papachristoforou.
The event was a success as the fish were quite active, making our little friends very happy. All the small fishermen managed to catch fish of different species. All fish caught were carefully released back into the water. The event was not only entertaining, but also informative and educational since the children had the opportunity to learn the types of fish in the fresh waters of Cyprus, the basic fishing techniques and the importance of “Catch & Release”.

At the same time, a big thank you to the Department of Fisheries and the Department of Forests for granting the relevant permits for this event to take place.
