On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, a friendly team fishing competition was held in memory of our Association’s former president and long-time member, Phivos Papachristoforou.
The event took place at the Tamasos Dam, marking three years since Phivos’s passing. The aim was to bring together people who love fishing and offer them a pleasant afternoon of shared angling experiences. At the same time, the event provided an opportunity for newcomers to be introduced to largemouth bass fishing.
This gathering has now become a tradition, and the Association’s goal is to organize it annually this period of the year at the Tamasos Dam.
Although the weather was initially rainy and conditions seemed unfavorable, all participants arrived at the meeting point. Forty minutes after the scheduled start time, the rain stopped, allowing the competition to begin.
The event was a great success, with more than 50 people taking part—an attendance that exceeded all expectations. Several fish were caught, giving many of those present the chance to experience the joy of fishing.
For the record, the winning team was composed of Nicholas Anastasakis, Giorgos Anastasakis, and Chariton Kantzilieris.
Second place went to Louis Katsantonis and Dimitris Konstantis,
while third place was secured by Giannos Pelekanidis, Panikkos Antoniou, and Pantelis Antoniou.
We thank everyone who attended the event and honored Phivos’s memory in this way.
Lastly, we extend our gratitude to all the Association’s sponsors for 2025:
Their support is invaluable and essential for making events like this possible.
