Garbage Cleaning at Tamassos Dam 16th of October 2010

The Cyprus Freshwater Angling Association, in the frames of his environmental contribution, protection and safeguarding of ecosystems of our dams, organized on Saturday 16th of October 2010 a symbolic cleaning in the Tamassos dam.

This effort was supported by the Cyprus Turism Organization (CTO), which we would to thank very much. Also in the effort, it helped the Cyprus Green Party. Mr Giorgos Perdikes participated with his spouse in the cleaning of the dam.

We particularly stress our big sensitivity in the subjects of environment because we believe that they constitute national wealth but also clue of culture for each one us. The protection and the safeguarding of our dams concerns everybody, much more for us that we use it daily and offers exciting fishing experiences. I

This symbolic act, is the least we could do in order to show that we care and worry for our dams.

We would to stress that from only a small space, in 2 only hours, from few individuals, was gathered a enormous quantity of waste. We hope that this pictures will sensitise goverment deparments responsible for the dams but also the visitors of the dams.
